"And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the Lord with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the Lord, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines." 1 Samuel 7:3
A return to the Lord will not be wholehearted without the removal of the idols that took away the heart from worshiping God.
Idols are whatever that take away your heart from God, your time for him, and your trust from him. Some of these at first may not appear as idols, but because their operations take your time for God, remove your trust from him, and will require that you bow to them and mock God, they become your idols.
Now, a return to the Lord requires the removal of those things that take away your heart from worshiping God. This action will enable you focus your heart on God as the only true God.
🙏 LORD, cause our hearts to trust and live for you wholeheartedly in Jesus Name.
ANYTHING THAT OCCUPIES YOUR HEART MORE THAN GOD IS YOUR IDOL OR WILL SOON BE YOUR IDOL.
